TitleWhy is the OUTL not restricted when using Shelf Life?
SummaryThis article explains in detail the reasons on why the Order Up To Level (OUTL) is not restricted when using Shelf Life
URL NameWhyis-the-OUTL-not-restricted-when-using-Shelf-Life
Resolution
  • When Shelf Life is applied, the Order Up To Level (OUTL) calculation is Vendor Lead Time Quoted (VLTQ) + Shelf Life.
  • This logic is ONLY used if the VLTQ + Shelf Life calculation total is LESS than the standard Safety Stock (SS) + Lead Time (LT) + Greater of the Item Order Cycle (IOC) or Vendor Order Cycle (VOC) = OUTL calculation.
  • The new OUTL is displayed if the item’s Balance is less than Vendor Order Point (VOP); remember to recalculate the order to generate the correct SOQ
