-If these are appearing then check if the following appears in the listener.ora.
-Update if missing (not substitute "{listener_name}" for the relevant LISTENER instance name)
-SUBSCRIBE_FOR_NODE_DOWN_EVENT_{listener_name}=OFF

Cause

Although this feature is turned on by default, it only serves a purpose when Oracle RAC is running. If Oracle RAC is not running, then the polling that this parameter controls can causes intermittent hangs.
