Resolution
Data Stage 7.5:
There are several options for settings of the Auto-purge option.
See Step 14 in JI_EP Server Edition Integration Guide.pdf, "Periodic administration."
Depending on your site requirements, you can set up automatic job purging on a per job or per solution basis.

Clear the job log file

Every DataStage job has a log file. Every time a job runs, it adds new entries to the log file. To prevent the files from becoming too large, you must purge them from time to time.

To set automatic purging for a job:
  1. Sign into DataStage Director.
  2. Select the job.
  3. From the Job menu, select Clear Log.
  4. Select the Auto-purge of job log button.
  5. Click the Enabled for this job check box.
  6. Select the Auto-purge action. You can  purge jobs over the specified number of days old, or specify the number of jobs you want to retain in the log. For example, if you specify 10 job runs, the Auto-purge action keeps entries for the last 10 job runs.
  7. Click OK to set the Auto-purge policy.
  8. For more information about purging log file entries, see "Purging Log File Entries" in the On-line manual 'DataStage Director Guide'

Additional Information
Some job logs can’t be cleared, typically this is because the job is a sub-job such as the sub jobs to the EKBF_FTF_Table_Xref.InputSourceNames_to_UserStatus job.

To apply purge criteria to a sub job, it is need to be done from the main job, example :

EKBF_FTF_Table_Xref.InputSourceNames_to_UserStatus, and the purge criteria will apply to the 3 jobs that are sub-jobs of this one:
  • EKBF_FTF_Table_Xref.InputSourceNames_to_UserStatus.FTFOnOrder
  • EKBF_FTF_Table_Xref.InputSourceNames_to_UserStatus.FTFOnHand
  • EKBF_FTF_Table_Xref.InputSourceNames_to_UserStatus.FTFInputData
