Resolution

There are 2 ways to resolve this issue as below:
Option 1:

  1. Close JDA Space Planning and all related files
  2. Restart the machine
  3. Open JDA Space Planning and perform printing to PDF operation

Option 2:

If option1 doesnt work, try the second one

  1. Close all JDA application 
  2. Navigate to Control Panel > Programs and Features 
  3. Uninstall 'JDA PDF Writer'
  4. Run 'regedit' with admin privileges and delete the reference/ configuration files of the JDA PDF Writer from below 2 locations:
    • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Devices
    • HKEY_CURRENT_CONFIG\Software\JDA PDF Writer
  5. Restart the machine
  6. Install JDA PDF Writer
  7. Restart the machine if require
  8. Open Space Planning or Floor Planning and perform printing the Planogram(s) or Floorplan(s) to PDF

Note: Restrain from restarting the machine/server in both option 1 and 2 when in JDA Cloud environment.

Could not start print job:

  • Uninstall and reinstall JDA PDF writer

Cause

​​Printer not activated, error code -30:

  • Damage or corruption of the printer drivers installed on the system

Could not start print job:
There are 2 possible causes of the issue:

  • JDA PDF Writer fails to load or read files in Space Planning or Floor Planning

  • Improper installation of JDA PDF Writer

Additional Information

Drivers are the communication link between the printers and the operating system installed on the computer. Damage or corruption of the printer drivers installed on the system can cause “Printer not activated, error code 30? on the system when the printer is invoked for function. If you get this error, you need to check the printer drivers installed on the system using the device manager and if the drivers are found having some issues, removing the drivers completely and then reinstalling them can solve the problem.
