Cause
This error may occur if Enterprise Planning client has disconnected from the file server due to network, device failures or conflict between Group Policies.
Additional Information
EPC behavior is as follows:
  • EPC will identify that the network connection to the module has been lost if scrolled down the view far enough that it needs to retrieve the data from the module or when changing tabs within the view again generating the need to request the data from the module.
  • If the user does not adjust the view, EPC will not identify a loss of network connectivity or a connection loss to a plan and modules until the user either clicks “Calculate”, does a “Save View” or “Save Data”.
  • If the network connection is lost and then regained during a session where the user is modifying the plan data but before the user clicks “calculate”, scrolls through the view data or changes tab, the user will loose any changes made. EPC will not notify the user during the session that the connection to the module was lost.
  • Pressing OK to the above message will close view, module and plan.
  • MS-Event logs on the EP Client machine may not contain any entries.
  • Error 7007 can be provoked by e.g. rebooting the file-server, keeping a view in EPC open.
In all cases, the user will loose all changes made, no option being available to save the information elsewhere.

In case of Group Policy conflict:
  • MS System Event log on the EP machine showing Event ID 1501 & 1500 to indicate that a GroupPolicy has been applied during the time the module was open.

  • Some customers increase  GP refresh value from default 90 minutes to e.g. 40000 minutes and stop facing the issue.

  • User based Group Policy and Computer based policy might have precedence conflicts when trying to connect / refresh the connection to the Toolkit drive.
  • According to documentation outlined by Microsoft, the computer policy should take precedence.
