Additional Information
The "expireinv" program checks whether stock has expired (that it has past its expiry date for expiry-controlled SKUs). For inventory identified by "expireinv", the following updates are made :
  • sets the "expired" flag on the inventory record.
  • sets inventory status to Locked with a lock code as defined in the "System Options" screen.
  • writes an inventory transaction to note the expiration of the inventory record.
The "expireinv" program does not run as a daemon in the conventional Dispatcher sense. It should be scheduled (for example using the Oracle scheduler or by "cron") to execute at specified times (generally once per day, just after midnight, though it can be scheduled to execute more frequently if desired).

The log file produced by the "-o" option should be managed by "truncatelogs" by adding an entry to "$HOME/dcs/truncatelogs.conf".
