Resolution

  1. The error will be seen in the Employee Import Log screen
    1. Make a note of the BU name and the employee's name.
  2. You will need to identify the intended date for the new accrual value
    1. This can be obtained from the original import file's effectiveDate attribute within the <TimeOffAccrual> element.
  3. Navigate to the Close Accrual Year screen and filter on the BU name.
  4. Scroll through the result until you find the affected employee.
  5. You may see that the date from step 1 is outside the current active accrual year. Either the current Accrual Year or the new effective-date will need changing.
    1. Note: if the new date is within the current accrual year for the employee, the cause of this error lies elsewhere.

Error Message Code
Effective Date of Accrual Balance must be in current Accrual Period. (Lab_Employee_Accruals.EffectiveDateNotInCurrentPeriod)

Cause
This error may occur when the effective-date of a new accrual value in an employee import is assigned to a date that is not in the currently open Accrual Year for that employee.
Additional Information
Once closed, accrual years cannot be reopened.

If the current Accrual Year needs closing to allow the new value to be imported, this should ideally be performed by the customer in accordance with their standard business process for closing accrual years.
