Resolution
Steps to resolve the issue:
1. In order for the EKB Configuration Service and EP Mid-Tier Logging to operate properly, ensure that permissions are granted to the NETWORK SERVICE User in the following areas:
  • The Folder C:\ProgramData\JDA\EKBCS or (depending on OS) C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\JDA\EKBCS: Full Control
  • The Windows Registry Key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\JDA\EKBCS: Full Control
  • Component Services | DCOM Config | MessageLogCore | Properties | Security | Launch and Activation Permissions | Customize | Edit…
    • Local Launch
    • Local Activation
2. Stop and restart IIS service
3. Stop and restart Mid-Tier services

Cause
This error may occur when any of the following conditions are true:
  • Permission for the NETWORK SERVICE are missing.
  • Permissions for local users are missing from the JDA installation folder.

  • Read
for the local users group on the folder C:\Program Files\JDA (default installation directory, which may be on any other location)
